JIANG Aiwu

JIANG Aiwu received his PhD degree in Zoology from Lanzhou University, China, and he also has a strong interest in the conservation of endangered bird species, such as the Nonggang Babbler (Stachyris nonggangensis), which is a new bird species discovered in 2008. His current projects aim at exploring how the birds are adapted to the limestone area, a very special ecosystem, in their breeding strategy. He also has a strong interest in the conservation of endangered birds, for example, Mrs. Hume’s Pheasant (Syrmaticus humiae), and is interested in ecotoxicology. He has experience in conservation and nature reserve management, and he has been employed as a consultation specialist for the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.
