Rachakonda SREEKAR

Rachakonda SREEKAR received his Masters degree in 2014 from XTBG, CAS, supervised by Prof. Rhett D. Harrison and also Prof. Goodale. The main objective of his Masters project was to evaluate the effects of hunting on vertebrate extirpations in Xishuangbanna, China. His recent work has focused on: 1) Bird species composition in an empty forest and the use of piecewise regression to detect thresholds in bird traits.  2) Hunter densities in Xishuangbanna and the use of flight initiation distance (FID) to measure hunting pressure. 3) Birds of Menglun and the use of species-area relationships to partition the additive effect of forest loss and hunting on bird extirpations.  He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Adelaide.
