Salindra Kasun DAYANANDA

Salindra Kasun DAYANANDA’s main interests are in conservation biology and ecology. He completed his master’s degree at the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), under the guidance of Prof. Goodale and Prof. QUAN Rui-Chang. During his Masters, his primary focus was on how the location of forest fragments affected birds (including nocturnal birds) and herpetofauna. During his PhD, guiding by Associate Prof. Christos Mammides, Prof. Goodale, and Prof. Emeritus Sarath W. Kotagama of the University of Colombo, he is using radio telemetry to measure birds’ movement in different land-types in Sri Lanka. He has worked on several Sri Lankan national level expert panels in different taxa, including mammals, birds and spiders.
