Supun Sewwandika GALAPPATHTHI

Supun Sewwandika GALAPPATHTHI joined our group as a Masters student in September 2018. She received her Bachelor’s degree from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, specializing in biology. She has gained field experience in behavioral and community ecology during her undergraduate studies and career as a teaching and research assistant. She is particularly interested in bird vocalizations, social behavior and community structure, and urban ecology. Her previous work was based on interspecific communication between bird and mammal species and effects of urbanization towards bird communities in Sri Lanka. She is currently working on bioacoustics and particularly focusing on acoustic indices for her master’s research, under the guidance of Associate Prof. Christos Mammides.
